JayJay celebrates the grand opening of its new gallery location at 5520 Elvas Ave. in East Sacramento with a festive Second Saturday reception on Sept. 14 from 7 to 9 p.m. featuring new works by the Sacramento-based abstract painter Mark L. Emerson. Equipoise Redux is the latest in a series of contemporary fine art exhibits that gallery owners Beth Jones and Lynda Jolley have offered since they opened JayJay on Franklin Boulevard in early 2001. The gallery's new home -- the mid-century Odgen building, transformed into a postmodern space by interior design firm designTECH, inc.-doubles its exhibit area and includes a two-story entry for large installations. JayJay will share the building with Jones' art consultation business and designTECH, offering patrons a one-stop spot for art- and design-related services. Equipoise Redux runs through Oct. 26.
